It’s been a pretty good year so far for Mike Grossi and Bryce Moe, owners of Saginaw Township-based advanced manufacturer Kremin Inc.
In April, Kremin was named one of 50 companies to watch by the Edward Lowes Foundation and Michigan Celebrates Small Business. Now, Kremin is one of five businesses in the running to be named the Saginaw County Chamber’s 2012 Outstanding Small Business of the Year.
Grossi and Moe acquired the business in 2010, after Mike Kremin, who established the business in 1983, retired.
Since the pair acquired the business in November 2010, they’ve expanded their product lines of precision machined parts from automotive and precision tools, to include medical devices, aerospace, energy, defense, and dimensional stone.
The business has purchased more than $600,000 of new equipment in recent months.
They’ve also increased the size of their staff, growing from 11 to 22 people, and adding a second shift.
“For us, we’re not in it for the recognition, we kind of just put our heads down and work,” Moe said.[divider top=”1″]
